Terri L. Gibson has been a Strings Specialist in the North Kansas City School District for over twenty years.She has also worked for the Blues Springs School District's summer music program.Terri received both her Bachelor of Science in Music Education (with an emphasis in string pedagogy) and Master of Arts in Music History and Literature from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri.She has continued her studies at several universities, the Suzuki Institute and with the American Jazz Educators Association.

Terri has been the Assistant Principal violist for the Liberty Symphony Orchestra for over 8 years.She also has been a member of the Northland Symphony Orchestra and the Lee's Summit Symphony.She was Principal Violist for the CMSU Symphony for 4 years.She is an active member of the Vivace String Quartet, an ensemble that is available for weddings, receptions, parties and seasonal events.

Terri has an established private studio for numerous years. She promotes the Paul Rolland philosophy of playing with movement and motion in playing. She pulls literature from numerous sources including Celtic music, traditional folk song and the more traditional classical literature.She believes in a relaxed but focused atmosphere in her studio and emphasizes a variety of ways to make practice more enjoyable and productive!She also includes music theory in her lessons.

She has taught students as young as 6 years of age through high school and adults.Terri has coached individuals and ensembles to District and State Festival.She also coaches students to prepare for auditions with a variety of orchestras including, The Kansas City Youth Symphony, The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, NKCSD Honors Orchestras and Truman State University.

Terri is a certified adjudicator for the state of Missouri's activities association, MSHAA.She has judged solos, small ensembles and large ensembles all over the state of Missouri.
This experience as an adjudicator helps her prepare her students and orchestras for performances and festivals.
